Marc Weinberg Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Method is now a certified Bale Doneen Method Practitioner and member of the non-profit Institute of Arteriology (IOA).

For the past seven years, the MWHSPM has utilized modern scientific principles and testing to identify the presence, cause and optimal therapeutic plan to prevent vascular tragedy in your life. Here is why: using international research and treatment outcomes, utilization of this method can prevent heart attacks, strokes, and Type 2 Diabetes, a closely related disease. Vascular diseases, involving the heart, kidneys, brain and aorta may be preventable by your participating in our vascular disease prevention method.

Disease build-up of cholesterol plaque in your carotid and femoral arteries will be evaluated using innovative, non-invasive ultrasound technology called Carotid Intima Medial Thickness Scans (CIMT) showing cholesterol, calcium, and deposition of deleterious oxidized chemicals in your arteries. In addition to identifying the presence of disease, your arteries will be given a suggested arterial age by three methods. Furthermore, your blood will be analyzed for the chemicals that cause inflammation; your genetic predisposition to develop heart attacks, strokes and aneurysms as well as response to life saving medications; the presence of insulin resistance or pre-Diabetes; as well as cholesterol subclasses and with breakdown by particulate size and type. These data will permit me to determine most advantageous treatment in order to achieve blood vessel friendly goals and an environment to stimulate regression or dissolving of cholesterol in the wall of your body's arteries.

The Marc Weinberg Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Method program specifically involves the following:Office Visit 1: While reviewing the model of the human arteries, an explanation is given to illustrate the biochemical and physiological factors that cause plaque formation, thrombosis, clots, heart attacks and strokes. A review of risk factors is performed. An overview of the MWHSPM is given; involving CIMT, analysis of 20 cholesterol particle components by size and density, circulating chemical mediators of inflammation in blood, importance and application of genetic testing, and finally importance of glucose tolerance testing to identify and treat early the presence of insulin resistance and pre-Diabetes in order to prevent Diabetes Mellitus. Moreover, a detailed explanation of CIMT (carotid intima medial thickness) is given to each individual with emphasis on potential benefits to the patient. All questions are answered, while their pertinent health and family history is reviewed. Total length of visit is 30-60 minutes.

Office Visit 2: CIMT is performed. Anterior, lateral and posterior images are taken of the near and far walls for a total of 12 views which reviewed with each patient during the visit. Your carotid bulbs will also be examined in detail for atherosclerotic lesions. The CIMT is discussed and comments are made regarding the presence of plaque or ulcerations. Patients are reminded that it will take complete analysis of their CIMT can take up to one week. To analyze the data on Sonosite computer software. Total length of visit is 30 minutes.

Office Visit 3: As soon as analysis is completed patient will meet with Dr. Weinberg in order to review all results and images with measurements of average and maximal CCA mean IMT measurements as well as the presence of plaque and bumps in the arterial wall. The arteries will be dated by three measurements based on published literature and data tables provided by Dr. Helmuth Fritz, from Loma Linda Medical Center, California. All questions will be answered. For those patients with abnormal results, further testing such as a CT (or coronary arteries for CACS score), and an ABI ultrasound test (the circulation of your legs) will be recommended for the presence of further peripheral vascular disease. In addition, important blood testing will be discussed from the perspective of how to prevent further disease, attempt to induce regression of plaque and the use of three laboratories with pricing will be discussed with patients (Quest, Berkeley Heart Lab and Cleveland Heart Lab). Pricing will be discussed for different insurances, in and out of network coverage, and cash payments. Patients will be given reading materials to take home in order to read and determine what testing they would like to have performed. Total length of visit is 45-60 minutes.

Office Visit 4: Patient will return for one final visit and both the physician and patient will review all lab testing that you wish to be ordered. Coordination of tests will be scheduled and I will schedule time to be able to handle blood and urine specimens for shipping to ship to Quest Diagnostics, Singulex, and Cleveland Clinic if necessary. Total length of visit is 20-30 minutes.

Office Visit 5: After all laboratory results have returned, an extensive report with the results, and recommendations for therapy and follow up will be made in a one hour slide show report to the patient and his/her spouse. A USB will be given from Marc Weinberg Personal Healthcare of the CIMT, MWHSPM report, Singulex, Quest Labs, EKG, exam note and anlaysis. All questions will be answered. Follow up visits to monitor treatment and response to therapy will be scheduled. Total length of visit is 60 minutes.

COST

The cost for treatment and evaluation of this program is $2500/year membership. Included in this fee is the cost of the serial CIMT procedures which will be performed twice during that period. Office visits will be planned as necessary and for those individuals who are living in other countries or states, periodic Skype hourly calls will be performed in order to monitor treatment and response.
